19:00:00 - 20:00 Who Do You Think You Are? (Documentary)
Holby City's Hugh Quarshie moved to this country when he was three but was born in Accra, Ghana, where, his mother hinted, his family had aristocratic ancestry. She styled herself as the Duchess of Abee, which Quarshie politely dismisses because, he explains, Africa has chiefs, not dukes and duchesses. He knows his family tree has Dutch roots, but he starts by travelling to Ghana to learn more about his mixed heritage. Here he meets dozens of new relations, although the paper trail soon peters out. He begins to suspect his Dutch great-grandfather had several children by an African woman but then scarpered back to Holland. And so he goes to the Netherlands (where he meets yet another distant relative), a visit that leaves the urbane Quarshie lost for words. Radio Times reviewer - Jane Rackham
